extraction
Molybdenite floats away from copper sulfides in a second flotation stage, or is the main product at a few porphyry-molybdenum mines. The concentrate is roasted to molybdenum trioxide, most of which goes straight into ferromolybdenum for steel; rhenium is scrubbed from the roaster flue gas.
